Visiting Scholar and Postdoc Affairs (VSPA) Post-Arrival Information

The VSPA website has instructions and valuable resources, including how to get a Cal 1 Card ID, CalNet ID, and Berkeley email address.  Getting Started Checklist.

When you go to the Cal 1 Card Office to obtain your Cal 1 Card ID, ask for a “CalNet Token.” This token will enable you to access various systems on campus.

**Please pay the VSPA University Services fee as soon as possible. The Cal ID will be ready the day after you pay the fee. The VSPA University Services fee is required to have an active appointment.

Building Access

Cory and Soda Halls

To gain access to Cory Hall and Soda Hall your Host Faculty member or their administrative staff need to request it for you. Please note that you will be asked to review the building safety materials before you are granted access.

Directory

Once you have access please update your Directory Listing by following these steps.

  1. Go to the Campus Directory
  2. Click the blue “Update your listing” button
  3. Authenticate using your CalNet ID and password.
