The EECS department has a dedicated budget to support programs and initiatives that foster diversity and inclusion in our department. Our faculty and students collaborate on a range of activities, from undergraduate and graduate engagement with K-12 audiences to academic support and pre-professional advancement.

Preparing to Apply to Berkeley Engineering
Information for high school/middle school students and parents looking for resources that will assist in preparing for college.
The Beauty and Joy of Computing (BJC)
BJC is our popular CS 10 course at Berkeley but is also being used as an AP Computer Science Principles curriculum in high schools, endorsed by the College Board. A current NSF grant is bringing BJC to 100 New York City public high school teachers, and also funding our collaboration with Education Development Center (EDC), a nonprofit curriculum developer, to adapt the curriculum for a broad range of high school students. BJC is also available as a MOOC on edX.
EECS Education Day
Annual one-day event, part of national CS Education Week, designed to inspire and motivate high school students to consider studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Of the 474 students who participated in the 2013 program, 50% of were MESA students.
