Reader/Tutor Appointments
In order to apply to be a Reader/Tutor, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Be in good academic standing (i.e., cannot be on academic probation or have more than 2 incomplete grades)
- Be enrolled in the minimum number of units approved by your college by the second week of classes (one week before the regular campus deadline)
- Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, and maintain this GPA during the semester you are teaching
- Have previously taken the course, its equivalent, or a more advanced course with a grade of B or better
- Attend the New ASE Orientation before the beginning of the semester (first-time Readers/Tutors)

- Work-study does not apply for Reader/Tutor positions

The following courses hire only Tutors:
- CS 61A
- CS 61B
- CS 61C
The following courses hire BOTH Readers and Tutors (Please apply for the position you are interested in. You may apply to both positions):
- EECS 16A
- EECS 16B
All other courses hire Readers.
