Reader/Tutor Appointments

In order to apply to be a Reader/Tutor, you must meet the following qualifications:

 

  1. Be in good academic standing (i.e., cannot be on academic probation or have more than 2 incomplete grades)
  2. Be enrolled in the minimum number of units approved by your college by the second week of classes (one week before the regular campus deadline)
  3. Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, and maintain this GPA during the semester you are teaching
  4. Have previously taken the course, its equivalent, or a more advanced course with a grade of B or better
  5. Attend the New ASE Orientation before the beginning of the semester (first-time Readers/Tutors)

Other information:

The following courses hire only Tutors:

  • CS 61A
  • CS 61B
  • CS 61C

The following courses hire BOTH Readers and Tutors (Please apply for the position you are interested in. You may apply to both positions):

  • EECS 16A
  • EECS 16B

All other courses hire Readers.
