Michael I. Jordan receives major honors in China and Italy
EECS and Statistics Professor Emeritus Michael I. Jordan has been elected to two prestigious international academies: the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) as a Foreign Member, and the Italian Accademia di Ingegneria e Tecnologia (AICT).
Election to CAS is among the highest honors bestowed by China’s national scientific community, recognizing individuals who have made transformative contributions to science and technology. Foreign Members are selected for their global impact on foundational research and for advancing scientific collaboration across borders.
Jordan’s election to the Accademia di Ingegneria e Tecnologia further underscores his influential work at the intersection of computer science, statistics, and engineering. Jordan is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
