EECS faculty and alumni win Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers

EECS Associate Professor Sergey Levine has been awarded the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE).
Four alumni were also named among PECASE recipients this year: Dorsa Sadigh (Ph.D. ’17, advisors: Sastry and Seshia); Chelsea Finn (Ph.D. ’18, advisors: Abbeel and Levine); Tamara Broderick (Statistics Ph.D. ’14, advisor: Mike Jordan); and Mohit Bansal (Ph.D. ’13, advisor: Dan Klein).
President Biden honored nearly 400 scientists and engineers with the PECASE, the U.S. government’s highest honor for emerging talent in these fields. Established in 1996, the award “recognizes innovative and far-reaching developments in science and technology, expands awareness of careers in science and engineering, recognizes the scientific missions of participating agencies, enhances connections between research and impacts on society, and highlights the importance of science and technology for our nation’s future.”
