Ana Arias elevated to IEEE Fellow

Ana Arias, Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) and Chair of the Electrical Engineering (EE) Division, has been elevated to the rank of IEEE Fellow. This honor is bestowed upon individuals who demonstrate “unusual distinction in the profession,” recognizing their exceptional contributions to the field of engineering.

The IEEE Fellow designation is awarded to individuals with a proven record of outstanding achievements across IEEE’s fields of interest. Arias’ pioneering work in the development of flexible electronics has been truly transformative. Her groundbreaking research has opened up new frontiers in healthcare, energy, and consumer electronics.

She was cited “for contributions to printed and flexible large-area electronics.”
