Amy Wendt Wins CITRIS Athena Award for Academic Leadership
EE alumna Amy Wendt (M.S. ’85, Ph.D. ’88) has won the 2024 EDGE in Tech Athena Award for Academic Leadership.
The Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society and the Banatao Institute (CITRIS) confers four categories of awards to exceptional pioneers in diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM fields. The Academic Leadership Award is given to “senior researchers in academia or national laboratories who have a noteworthy technical career and an established record of mentorship”.
Wendt is co-director of the Women in Science and Engineering Leadership Institute (WISELI) and currently serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Research in the Physical Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
