Housing
Securing housing can take up to a couple of months, so we encourage you to start your search well before you arrive. Graduate students looking for housing for the 2024-25 school year are in luck: the campus is expanding its housing options for graduate students, and now is the best time to apply! Berkeley Housing offers four apartment complexes for single graduate students, as well as family student housing at University Village in Albany (UVA). Applications are being processed weekly until all rooms have been filled; apply today via the Berkeley Housing portal. If you are interested in living in xučyun ruwway, an apartment community for single graduate students, you may want to sign up for an in-person tour.
The Slack group is also a valuable resource for finding housing and roommates. If you did not receive a Slack invitation please notify Glenna Anton at ganton@berkeley.edu. Another way to find roommates is by subscribing to the EECS Grads Housing email listserv. You can subscribe by sending a request to the eecs-grads-housing-request@eecs.berkeley.edu. Other housing options include the Berkeley Student Cooperative and the International House.
Sexual Violence/Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
All graduate students are required to complete both the online and in-person Sexual Violence/Sexual Harassment Prevention Trainings. You must complete the online training prior to the first day of instruction (failure to do so will result in an enrollment block). The in-person training will be held via Zoom through the Graduate Division New Graduate Student Orientation (NGSO) Students need to attend only one “in-person” (Zoom) training.
