We invite you to recognize the profound contributions of Professor Joseph Thomas Gier to the University of California, the first tenured Black professor in the UC system. Sculptor Dana King unveiled a bronze statue in honor of Gier in the Blum Hall courtyard.

Although renowned roboticist Ruzena Bajcsy recently retired from Berkeley, she returned to discuss her insights on how robotics research has evolved over the past half-century with five senior colleagues who have combined research experience of over 200 years.
