uLab Machine Learning Job Positions
Interested in deep learning? Have you wanted to apply computational concepts to other fields such as medicine or art? Have you ever wanted to get experience running a research group?
The Statistical Modeling and Deep Learning uLab is looking for machine learning staff scientists, project leaders, and mentors for various projects involving data science, computer vision, and natural language processing. We are a student-run research laboratory geared at training students for the hardest problems in deep learning both in industry and academia. For this semester we have 3 main projects planned:
- Automating the identification of atomic nuclei in medical imaging datasets, helping researchers to understand cellular processes and shortening the time it takes to develop new drugs
- Utilizing the deep learning stack to mimic the artistic style of a painting and transfer it to another image
- Determining the helpfulness of Amazon reviews using deep learning models for NLP to perform sentiment analysis of the text data
